May 20- Richard's Bay and the Indian Ocean

Road trip today to the Indian Ocean.  We took a boat cruise in the St. Lucia Wetlands and Estuary.  There are about 800 hippo and 2000 crocodile in the estuary.  Apparently the hippos sometimes go into town and drink out of the pools of fresh water.  Did you know that hippos are responsible for more deaths than any other African animal?

We had lunch in town.  Andrew had crocodile steak and I had crocodile on my pizza.

We then went to walk in the Ocean... nice and warm, but a strong riptide so we didn't venture far into the surf.
